 MONEY MONEY MONEY IT’S SO FUNNY

 

The Abba song “Money Money Money it’s so Funny in a Rich Man’s World” comes to my mind as I sit down to pen some lines about my friend Alan’s relationship with money from my observations. To begin with, Alan’s relationship with it is very complex. He uses money to lead a highly materialistic life and unapologetically enjoys all the finer things life offers. Rightly so, he deserves every bit of his success as he works extremely hard in his profession, and lady luck has been highly beneficial to him.

 

I observed that he is sometimes quite impulsive in his spending and splurges. Though this has sometimes led to some financial stress, due to his resourcefulness, business acumen, and brilliant money-making mind, he always manages to come out of it and make a profit in the bargain. Alan can teach financial success to any aspiring international student from any top financial college.

 

Alan had an extremely humble upbringing before breaking through and achieving massive financial success. This upbringing taught him the value of money and the necessity of working hard to achieve economic security.

 

Alan found his freedom and unique voice when money started pouring into his life. He enjoyed treating himself and his loved ones to an extravagant lifestyle. His large-heartedness knows no bounds, and he contributes to charitable and social causes.

 

Alan manages his finances responsibly and has a fortune stacked away for rainy days. His coming generations will never have to slave the way he did. He sometimes loses money on emotional business deals and purchases.

 

His keen intellect, resourcefulness, and business acumen shone through during adversity. He hustled, took up side hustles, did extra work, and explored creative ways to make money. The result is that he will always have cash, an admirable quality that Alan possesses.

 

Despite his tumultuous relationship with money and some significant flaws in his character, Alan is a massive financial success story. He is always open to course correction and can quickly adapt to changing circumstances. His head is filled with financial maturity and stability, a trait that has made Alan a celebrity.

    MEMORIES OF MY DAYS AT ST. EDMUND’S SCHOOL   Nestled among the hills, ours was an Irish Christian Missionary School. It was founded by Edmund Ignatius Rice, a great missionary and educationist. The story goes that he belonged to a family of tenants who were into farming. When tragedy struck, and his wife died, he was left alone to care for his daughter with special needs. He sold his elegant house, moved into a stable, and opened his first school. Today, about 800 Christian Brothers in 28 countries run prestigious Edmund Rice educational institutions and follow in his footsteps.   St. Edmunds School had colossal buildings built by the Irish Brothers amidst picturesque settings. The school had three large play fields. It also had a very tranquil and very quaint chapel. Prayers were offered here in the serene atmosphere.
