 MA’S BLESSINGS FOREVER

 

WILLIAM: Ma? Is that you? Or am I dreaming?

 

MA: Yes, William. It’s me. Our bond is eternal, my dear. It’s so good to see you again. We were very close, you being my eldest.

 

WILLIAM: Ma, I can’t believe you're gone. I've missed you every single day. There's so much I want to share with you. How have you been?

 

MA: I’m at peace here. I have reunited with your Baba here in heaven, and together, we watch over you and your siblings. Try to be a good boy like your Baba.

 

WILLIAM: There is so much I wanted to ask you and Baba. Baba left much earlier, but why did you, too, have to go so soon?

 

MA: William, our time on earth is predestined. Life can be unpredictable, but I want you to know I've done my best to prepare you and your siblings for life without me. I’m proud of the firm, resilient individuals you're becoming. Remember, I’m always with you, guiding and protecting you from above.

 

WILLIAM: It’s been lonely without you. I lost a friend, philosopher, and guide in you. Sometimes, I wonder what I have done and achieved after you departed. Would you have been proud of me?

 

MA: William, I’m so very proud of you. After my demise, you grew a few inches taller. Now, you remind me of your Baba. Take care of your health. You’re touching lives worldwide and making a difference. Your Baba and I are so proud of you.

 

WILLIAM: I wish both of you were here with me. Sometimes, I need your guidance and advice in different stages of my life.

 

MA: I know you can’t do it all by yourself. You have always been the loner, the lone wolf, a strong boy, and a fighter. You were my favourite.  But I want you to know it’s okay to ask for help.  It’s not a sign of weakness to ask for help. Many excellent and noble teachers are always willing to help, only if you ask. Besides that, remember that you are never alone in times of doubt. Both your Baba and me are always with you at all times.

 

WILLIAM: I’ll try to ask for help, Ma. How did you cope with the pressures of life when we were kids?

 

MA: It wasn’t easy, but I took one step at a time. I was so busy rearing you and your siblings that I didn’t have time to worry or brood. I didn’t even find the time to grieve after your Baba passed away. I had my hands complete with you and your young siblings. But my immense love for you all kept me going. I found joy in the little things of life. So can you. I’m incredibly proud of how you and your siblings have turned out today.

 

WILLIAM: I will remember your advice, but I wish we had spent many more years together. I wanted to apologise for any pain and hurt I may have caused you inadvertently and express my deep love for you.

 

MA: I know dearest. But seize the moment. Please make the most of it. Don’t ignore your health. Time is fleeting. My love, guidance and wisdom are always a part of you. You are a part of me and Baba. Keep your head high always, and live like the royal prince you were born to be.

 

WILLIAM: Thank you, Ma, for everything. I love you so much.

 

MA: I love you, William, forever and ever. Your destiny awaits you. Be the king you are meant to be. Live your life fully, never regretting a day. Your Baba and I will be watching you.

 

WILLIAM: I will. Goodbye, Ma.

 

MA: Goodbye, my boy. Until we meet again.

  BR. ERIC STEVE D’SOUZA: FOND MEMORIES   On October 13th,2024, we received the sad news that our beloved teacher from school, Br. Eric Steve D’Souza had passed away at 1:20 p.m. in Goa. With his passing, we lost a legend in the field of education.   My earliest memories of Br. Eric was when I was a young student in class six at St Edmunds School. He had come to join our school from St. Columba’s School, Delhi, where he was the principal. He didn’t join our school as the principal, though; that job went to another legend, Br. Simon Coelho.   From the moment he entered our school, his reputation preceded him as a genius teacher, and we were all in awe of him. Over the next few years, we would learn why he was known as a genius. Boys made a beeline to be in his class, and parents tried to pull strings to get their boys admitted.
