 CLOSING SCENE OF THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER

 

The closing scene of “Thor: Love and Thunder” is somewhat serious but promises a bright future. In the battle's climax, Gorr loses his life and dies, his dark vendetta dying with him. Jane Foster, who had the superpowers of the mighty Thor, gradually weakens and loses her strength. With a rather touching goodbye, she exits the scene by transforming into stardust, her sacrifice moving our hero Thor to tears and affecting him deeply.

 

As the scene changes, “Sweet Child O Mine” by Guns N Roses begins to play, its familiar lyrics drumming up lost memories and buried emotions. The opening line of this song, "She's got a smile that it seems to me reminds me of childhood memories, where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky", signifies the innocence of children and their freshness and vitality. The camera now closes in on Thor, who is now in the company of a young girl—Gorr’s daughter, Love. Despite the tremendous losses and hardships he endured in the battle with Gorr, Thor's eyes glimmer with hope and compassion as he looks at the young girl.

 

Thor takes Love's hand and adopts her as his own, symbolising the start of a new and dynamic chapter in his life. The song reverberates, and the lyrics “Sweet Child O Mine” underscore their bond. As they prepare to face many new adventures in the future, their partnership is named Love and Thunder, leaving the audience excited and intrigued about what's to come.

 

In the final moments, the scene is filled with optimism and the promise of a glorious future. In their superhero attire, Thor and Love stand ready to protect the universe. As the song "Sweet Child O Mine" reaches its crescendo, W. Axl Rose's voice at its best, and the magic of Slash very much evident in the song, the camera slowly fades out, leaving the audience with a satisfying closure to this tale and an eager anticipation of the thrilling adventures ahead for these new superheroes: Thor and Love. What more is in store for the enthusiastic fans of the Thor franchise? Only time will tell, but the anticipation is growing daily.

    MEMORIES OF MY DAYS AT ST. EDMUND’S SCHOOL   Nestled among the hills, ours was an Irish Christian Missionary School. It was founded by Edmund Ignatius Rice, a great missionary and educationist. The story goes that he belonged to a family of tenants who were into farming. When tragedy struck, and his wife died, he was left alone to care for his daughter with special needs. He sold his elegant house, moved into a stable, and opened his first school. Today, about 800 Christian Brothers in 28 countries run prestigious Edmund Rice educational institutions and follow in his footsteps.   St. Edmunds School had colossal buildings built by the Irish Brothers amidst picturesque settings. The school had three large play fields. It also had a very tranquil and very quaint chapel. Prayers were offered here in the serene atmosphere.
