THE BEST OF BUDDIES

 THE BEST OF BUDDIES

God and justice have always shared a close, unique bond that transcends the boundaries of time and human comprehension. While Justice slogs hard in the earthly realm, methodically analysing facts and weighing the right and the wrong, God observes the show from a higher plane with wisdom that sees beyond the immediate, the tangible and the obvious. In many ways, both are complementary forces, working in unison and harmony, each necessary for maintaining the delicate balance of the universe.

Justice personified is hardworking and meticulous. With scales in hand and an unwavering gaze, he goes through life ensuring fairness, equality, and righting the wrongs. However, as sincere as he is, justice has to work within the system and the boundaries of human laws. Often, facts are unclear, corruption and dishonesty colour the truth, or the blurring lines of fairness when time fades. In these moments, Justice falls short, and their well-intentioned efforts fail.

So, now enter God, Justice’s best friend. God is timeless, omnipresent, a figure that is both imposing and comforting. He is not bound by the same rules: bureaucracy, red tape and system constraints that severely handicap Justice’s reach. With a gaze penetrating the fog of chaos, confusion and deceit, God sees the crux of the problem immediately and gets right into the heart of it instantly. Where Justice is indecisive and hesitates in taking action, unsure of all the consequences and the nuances, God acts with a certainty born out of divine insight.

When Justice fails, it’s not out of negligence, apathy, unkindness or lack of compassion. It is because the world we live in is complex, and humans, with their free will and failed faulty systems, often create situations that cannot be easily rectified by earthly means alone. This is where God steps in, not as an alternative but as the ultimate backstop. Divine justice is distinct- where earthly justice seeks fairness based on laws and evidence, divine justice arrives at the soul. God does not need evidence, proof, or witness to build a case; he knows the truth inherently.

The relationship between Justice and God is not just one of mutual trust, respect, and understanding but also of an unspoken agreement. Justice understands that his role is crucial, but incomplete without God’s divine touch. He doesn’t feel defeated when justice falters because he trusts that God will ensure balance in the greater scheme of things. This unspoken agreement allows Justice to handle the day-to-day while God takes care of what transcends the here and now, fostering a deep sense of mutual understanding and trust.

God does not step in immediately. He gives Justice the space to act, respecting the process. But when the system fails, corruption is rampant, injustice, abuse, and suffering are the norm, or when a blind judiciary denies good people justice, God quietly intervenes. Sometimes, this intervention is subtle: a series of events leading up to an unexpected outcome, a change of heart in a guilty person that makes him confess, or a twist of fate that restores balance. At other times, the hand of God is more direct, with a retribution or reward that only divine justice can dole out.

God offers solace to those who have been wronged and aggrieved in a way that Justice sometimes cannot. He reminds people that while earthly justice may fail or be delayed, divine justice is the ultimate truth and is inevitable. Every action and intention is seen and recorded by a divine camera, and though it may not manifest in ways people expect, it will come, in this life or the next, providing a profound sense of reassurance.

In their friendship, Justice and God remind the world that justice is not just a human task. It is a cosmic force, an amalgamation of human effort and divine will. While Justice works tirelessly on earth, God ensures that no wrong goes unanswered and no good deed goes unnoticed. Together, they make a great team and form the perfect balance: earthly fairness supported by divine grace.
