UNDERDOG

                 UNDERDOG

            His body feels light,

            As if shedding fat,

            Bit by bit,

            For that fit and trim,

            Self to emerge,

            And his thoughts,

            Became clearer,

            At first it was all,

            Muddled up, hazy,

            And confused,

            But bit by bit,

            His thoughts became,

            Crystal clear, pure,

            And pristine,

            His writings and jottings,

            Became clearer, creative,

            And full of purpose,

            His speech became,

            Articulate, from,

            Mumbled, jumbled beginnings,

All in all, he is new,

            In thoughts, looks,

            Actions, deeds, and,

            Speech,

            He is on the path,

            Of rebuilding his life,

            One slow step,

            After another,

            He is the underdog,

            Whom no one,

            Saw coming.
